Hi,

Let's build a better world.

In a world of artificial intelligence, let human intelligence be your strength.

Pooja Singh

About Me.

I’m an employee turned entrepreneur.

I chose the risky, challenging and hard entrepreneurial life after I read the book ‘Outliers’ in the winter of 2019. It’s a book about individuals who do things that go beyond the realm of ordinary. The author makes the case that talent and hard work are not enough – true outliers also need family, culture, community, and some good luck to make it to the top.

I am fortunate to have had a free & empowering childhood as well as a values driven upbringing. I grew up(majorly) in Gujarat(Surat) & Mumbai - which gave me an inspirational environment to be myself & follow my dreams. I'm also fortunate to be a part of unconventional, wonderful & progressive families(parents & in-laws). Both my moms are working women and are famous in real life(not social media) because of their work in their community/city. My mom is a teacher & my mother-in-law is one of the best gynaecologist in her town. My father was deputy general manager of HR dept at Ultratech(before he passed away due to cancer). He had masters in social psychology, social work & HR. My grandfather was head of HR at WCL and had a masters in social work (MSW).

I dropped out of college because I did not find the curriculum challenging enough and I wanted to be financially independent - so I got a job instead.

My history

2009-2010

Started working

I took a job at an HR consultancy firm in Nagpur at the age of 18. Why? Because college education was not challenging me. I would have sticked around if it was an IIT, NIT or some engineering college. Local colleges in tier 2 were mostly a place for students to socialise & make friends at that time. In 2010, I moved to Mumbai (independently) to work & live in the big city - partly because I was drawn to the western culture due to growing up in Surat(Gujarat).

2010-2016

Lived independently & worked in Mumbai

I started at Accenture and worked for AT&T's tech process. I developed my humility, voice, accent & communication skills there - something that works as an asset for me today. After I learnt enough, it stopped challenging me. So I moved to the pharmaceutical(start-ups) sales industry. Sales taught me persuasion & perseverance. It challenged me to do things better. I was good at it so I also made decent money for a young person.

2016-2020

Worked at start-ups in Bangalore & personal development

I got married in 2016 & moved to Bangalore. Started with B2B sales and then joined HealthifyMe at the end of 2016. I managed inside sales there(did very well) and moved to B2B partnerships/sales for health care. I learnt a lot but could not stick around due to politics & lack of direction. I joined Würfel(a lifestyle company) as their growth manager. I led B2B franchise sales and did well again. The management was kind enough to let me manage marketing & hiring too. I quit because the distance from my home & office increased by 2x(we bought our own house). I then joined Wooqër as a customer success manager(B2B Enterprise). I quit so I could start my own business.

2020-2023

Entrepreneurial hustle

Period of spiritual awakening.

I started a brand called "Just as you" which sold made to measure pants for women via e-commerce. It was a personally experienced problem I wanted to solve. We managed upto 100 orders a month with a team of 5 but the second wave of covid(April-May 2021) challenged us to think of other options.

In July 2021 I registered Aurhum networks pvt ltd to build a tech product that could solve for the epidemic of loneliness created by social distancing & isolation. I tried many propositions as a social app for consumers and learnt a tremendous amount. There's a grey area between social media & social network. As I started building a team, I discovered white spaces in: a) the way we find & evaluate talent, b) the way we connect with our employees/team, c) upskilling and independently managing mental & emotional wellbeing.

I had an epiphany that directed me towards HR & employee wellbeing since my dad & paternal grand father were HR leaders in large organisations. My B2B sales background combined with genetic flare for human-resources-connection led me to find what we call 'founder-market-fit'.

I write a monthly newsletter with my reflections

for my future board members, investors, equity/Esop holders.
